Explanation / Answer

Three common internship hurdles and plans to resolve them.

1: LACK OF ENOUGH WORK

Students took the internship to gain valuable work experience, so it can be extremely frustrating and annoying when you aren’t getting that – especially in the case when they are not paying you. Interns often face this problem of not getting enough work, or busy with the work which is meaningless, which really do not add any value to the organization.

PLAN: TO BE PROACTIVE.

If you wrap your assigned work for the day before lunchtime, don’t spend the rest of your day on facebook or sitting ideal. Better grab lunch with a colleague from that department you’re interested in, and ask about what projects she’s working on. Share your interest with your boss in helping with some of those projects. In this case your supervisor might appreciate the initiative and you’ll be able to perform the work of your interest.

2: LACK OF ENOUGH DIRECTION

If you get an assignment from your supervisor which is completely unclear, you have no idea that what you’re doing, you fell annoying in this case and avoid asking from your boss and try to figure it yourself.

PLAN: DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS

It is really easy for supervisors to forget that you’re new to the industry as they are very busy with their daily routine work, but it is important for you to reach them for their help when you need it. Your employer will understand the situation, especially if you’re starting a brand new project Avoid the question that have already been answered by giving attention and taking notes because it will irritate him .

3: LACK OF ENOUGH FEEDBACK

You have enough work to do in organization but don’t have any specific direction and information about the project you have to work on .And also there is lack of feedback from your supervisor. You really want to know how you’re really doing and the areas u need improvements. You have no idea and decide to keep quiet.

PLAN: FIND A MENTOR AND SET UP WEEKLY MEETINGS

The best way to get feedback is to seek for it actively by setting up weekly meetings with your supervisor in order to check and make sure your expectations meets. Ask for feedback and ways you can improve your work. It will not only alleviate some stress and frustration from you, but your supervisor will also appreciate your conscientiousness.
