I often call nonverbal communication "the stuff that you know but just do not know that you know." Many of us know the common rules and rituals to nonverbal communication but never really thought about it. And, we do not spend much time thinking about it either.
For the next couple of days do some "people watching." Watch people in various situations and take note of their nonverbal communication. Watch how they use their bodies, gesture, space, touch and how they guard their personal space and territory. What did you notice and how does any of it line up with the material in the lesson this week? Particularly as it relates to status.

Nonverbal communication provides important cues regarding the intentions of various people. On observation of various individuals across sections of society, the following can be concluded:
The above information also is in sync with the theory that people in high status tend to be more confident because of their position in society and achievements and that tends to get reflected in their body language.
While people who occupy lower status are by extension less confident because of their comparative lesser acheivements and power and that also gets reflected in their body language.
