I went to a retail store to find a product that are usually buy. I went into the shampoo section to find out my brand. I personally prefer Head and Shoulders which is one of the very famous shampoos available in the market. Head and Shoulder was placed between other products such as Pantene and Tresemme and some other brands as well.
Head and Shoulder has their own style of packaging and differentiate themselves by creating a brand identity of curved bottle and proprietary graphics. Marketing strategy of head n shoulder is directly printed on the bottle itself. This strategy of differentiating themselves from other by projecting themselves as a dandruff remover shampoo.
Product was differentiated on the shelf with the help of the bright white bottles with printed graphics on it. Head and Shoulder was accompanied by pantene which is also manufactured by the same company. The shelf was full of different brands and there were conditioners as well as shampoos placed on the right along with these products. Wider product range definitely confuses a buyer to buy the specified product and to choose between different brands.
Strong Promotional strategy and proven effectiveness of the shampoo on the dandruff has built a strong customer base. Effectiveness of the shampoo as well as mouth to mouth publicity has also been very effective for the brand to maintain their effectiveness and an advantage over different brands to Grab the attention of the customer.
Head and shoulders is one of the best products that is advertised by Procter and gamble and have the strongest marketing strategy as an anti dandruff shampoo for the society. By being a market leader in the same industry head and shoulders have been gaining best revenues for the market .
