Question
This course is all about data, but if the data is not presented in a meaningful way that catches the eye of the reader, we miss one of the prime goals of data analytics. In David Peoples book, Presentation Plus: David peoples Proven Techniques, the seven deadly sins of presentations are discussed.
Deadly sin assigned: Tell the audience more than they want to know.
For the sin assigned to you:
1.In your own words, explain the deadly sin and why would it be considered a deadly sin.
2.Share your perspective when you are at a presentation when the deadly sin is committed.
3.Propose a minimum of two alternatives to avoid the deadly sin. 4.Create an eighth deadly sin.
Explanation / Answer
1. The seven deadly sins are : pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth.
I have taken greed as one of the deadly sins. Greed is considered to have more and more of anything, particularly money and wealth. People have sleepless nights and become quite restless as there is no end for greed. People become quite violent, fight with each other, siblings become enemy of each other , and even murder each other to have more and more wealth. Thus it is considered to be a deadly sin.
2. Generally the siblings and neighbours fight with each other to have more and more wealth. I have observed many of the siblings kill each other or become enemy of each other due to their growing greed towards wealth.
3.The two alternatives to avoid deadly sin to have a calm, controlled and composed behavior.People should understand that there are limited resources and unlimited choices to be met. There is no end for greed, so they should limit their desires to have more and more.
People should go for meditation in orderto have a control on their greed.
4. The eighth deadly sin is illiteracy. If a person is literate, he develops a mature behavior towards the life and do not get involved in any crime.
