systems. In its ideal form, it creates valuable and positive change in the followers with the end goal of developing
followers into leaders.

Laissez-faire leadership, also known as delegative leadership, is a type of leadership style in which leaders are hands-off and allow group members to make the decisions.

Develop a summary of how these styles would work together as a team?

Explanation / Answer

In order for a team to function efficently we need a leadership style which combines the best attributes of transformational, participative and delegative leadership. While participative leadership style is needed to ensure that harmony is maintained in the team and opinions of individual team members are heard and the strategy is formulated accordingly, the transformational leadership style is there to inspire the team to put in extra efforts and contribute to the greater cause and go beyond the call of duty. Also it helps in developing future leaders by providing them an impetus to take ownership of the project and make a difference. While transformational leadership can inspire, the delegative type of leadership actually empowers and the team members get confidence to take decisions and execute them of their own accord without having too much interference from the top. Thus the ownership of the project develops even further and this leads to greater sense of execution and initiative leading to formation of a successful team.
