please present your comments about the following:
Please post your explanation of your position on each question ***(at least 400 word responses to each question!)***
1. Do you agree with the video's lesson learned that the "Roots of the disaster were created in the project, with compromises to the design (safety features), and to the testing." statement? Explain your position.
2. Do you agree with the video's lesson learned that the "Elevation of expectations of end deliverable allowed business pressures to override operational procedures." statement? Explain your position. Put yourself in the shoes of the sponsor.
3. Do you agree with the video's lesson learned that the "Lack of stakeholder (sponsor) management, and further compromises in the implementation made the disaster inevitable." statement? Explain your position. Put yourself in the shoes of the Project Manager.
4. Do you think better Project Management decisions would have prevented the "disaster"? Explain your position. Answer from critical thinker point of view.
Explanation / Answer
White star project was carried out for 3 luxury mega ships. Definitely compromise with the design and safety features of the Titanic was the one of the main reasons of sinking. This disaster could have been prevented give the proper approach of implementing better manufacturing of hull as well as implementation of better strategies in manufacturing and designing rest of the parts related to the enforcement of the Titanic would have been prevented the specific disaster even after it hit an Iceberg.
Definitely I agree with the specific is statement of elevation of Expectations of undeliverable allowed business pressure to override operational procedures. As part of the whole operation management in the project white star, consistent elevation in deliverables as well as giving pressure to the production team reduces the overall safety measures as well as increase the impact of non safety measures for reducing the overall quality of the ship as well as for reducing the all available aspects of maintaining high quality standards in manufacturing as well as project design. This type of approach barely provided support and also affected workability of the teams on the specific project as high pressure created flow in many events which directly lead titanic to be less qualitative then it was planned to be.
Yes I agree with the specific statement that lack of a stakeholder management as well as other compromises have invited the disaster. Are the stakeholders for not properly managed for the products, inconsistent availability of the cash flow as well as changing and fluctuation in reliability was one of the main reasons of reducing quality as well as impact of the service provision to the project team for improving the effectiveness of the services that could be provided to the manufacturing team and design team of Titanic. Imbalance in stakeholder management and compromising with safety measures was some of the main reasons for making the disaster inevitable in the specific situation.
Definitely better project management decisions would have helped the organisation to maintain high quality standard as well as to reduce different quality management flaws in the organization. Better project management would have increase the overall level of structural design and integration of different services which would have benefited the star project by a huge margin and provided positive support to the structure of Titanic reducing the impact of the disaster or maybe preventing it.
