there are many definitions and many types of consumer rights around the world; they may differ from nation to nation and some times based on the product or service also they will differe.

in general the consumer rights are;

right to safety, right to be informed, right to choose, right to be heard, right to seek redressal, right to consumer education, right to basic needs and right to helthy environment.

Right to Safety: what ever the products or services the consumer used, they should not harm to them personally, they should not harm to their property also.

right to informed: the consumer has to correctly informed about the product. the information related to quality, quantity, purity, standard and its performance in different conditions; every thing has to be informed.

right to choose: once he got all the information and after analysing it, he should have a chance to choose any one product from the all available.

right to be heard: the consumer should have a chance express his complaints to the producer about the product. in this the consumer can file a case against the producer regarding their promises before its sale.

right to seek redressal: this right provides compensation to the consumers against unfair trade practice of the seller.

right to education: consumer should have a chance to get complete awareness and know complete information about the product or service, and the same should seek from the producer.
