DETREMINANTS OF JOB SATISFACTION AMONG POLICE OFFICERS
INTRODUCTION
The article talks about the source of job satisfaction among a sample of police officers. The title of the article is unambiguous. The abstract is very definite. The researcher has mentioned about the aim and the sample size very clearly but is unable to justify the reason for the sample size chosen. The basic profile of the respondents is also mentioned but there is lack of details of the respondents. Along with that, the researcher has also talked about the independent variables in the abstract itself. The abstract also tells us about the research methods used.
The introduction is sufficient enough to give a basic idea of the article. It also gives a clear indication of how job satisfaction increases or decreases with time depending on the independent variables. On the other hand, the article does not talk about the history or background related to the concept. Grammatically, the article is apt and the language is also very easy to understand. The sub-headings of the article are very clear and definite. The flow of ideas is logical and structured. There are no keywords in the article.
METHADOLOGY
In the study, the survey method was used for the analysis. In case of large number of participants, survey method tends to be very successful. The participants were made to fill the questionnaires at workplace on the spot. When the questionnaire is mailed, there is less chance of getting a response than when it is face to face. The researcher has clearly mentioned the methods which are used for the study and has also well explained the reasons for using those methods. Under the methodology, the researcher has also mentioned the operationalization of independent and dependent variables.
RESULTS
Through the study, it was seen that while some variables highly affected job satisfaction, there were others which did not make a difference in it. Also, it was noticed that where on one side, certain variables increased job satisfaction, there were others which tend to decrease it.
The findings of the article are reported clearly. Under the findings, the reliability for the correlation of all the independent variables with the job satisfaction is clearly mentioned. The findings also talk about the standard deviation. Tables have been made separately for explaining both mean and standard deviation and correlation matrix.
CONCLUSION
Under the discussion, the researcher has clearly mentioned the reasons for using the particular independent variables in the article. The article also talks about the other areas where same kind of research can be used. It also clearly mentions the limitations of the research and explains how future researchers can modify and use it in a better way.
The references justify that the information in the article is from credible sources. Also, the in-text citations are there in the article. The article lacks a clear conclusion.
