Question

Assume you are bidding a large project with a client you have completed many successful project with in the past. The bid is open to all contractors licensed in the state the project is to be built. After many weeks of preparation the final bids are due today at 2:00pm. At 9:00am in the morning, a trusted subcontractor calls you and asks if you are still bidding the job. They explain that a competitor of yours is telling all the subcontractors that you have dropped out of the bid and not to waste their time sending their quotes to you. What would you do in this situation?

Explanation / Answer

At this point, since wrong information is spreaded in the market. So my presence is required at the site. I would go to the place physically and try to contact as many subcontractors as possible. I would use all the sources of the communication to contact all the subcontractors: like emails, phone calls. I would make my interest clear to all of them am would quote my bid for the specific project. Also further after the bid I would deal with the the competitors legally for spreading false information which is responsible for the loss in the business.
