Pros and cons of external recruitment: The key advantage of external recruitment is that it presents a wider choice in terms of availability of a large pool of qualified candidates. Another advantage is the recruitment of fresh talent which will encourage the flow of new ideas in the future. In terms of disadvantages, external recruitment can be more expensive than the internal recruitment process.
Pros and cons of understanding the value of jobs (best practice in compensation) : The key advantage of understanding the value of jobs and its worth in the labor market is that there is an improvement in job satisfaction, morale and employee retention. The disadvantage is that costs may rise in future.
Pros and cons of engaging in fair employment practices: The advantages of engaging in fair employment practices is that the organization will become a preferred workplace or will be employer of choice. The disadvantage is that focus will shift towards non-job-related factors such as age, sex, race etc, and factors like experience, expertise and qualifications will not be the sole criterias for judging a candidate.
The best practice that i recommend is that of external recruitment. This is because, hiring an outsider will bring new and fresh insights from other industries. There is a flow of new ideas and new and fresh perspectives. Besides increasing the talent pool, diversity is also increased.
