Ans: a) JIT is just in time manufacturing. It is the time when order received and maufacturing started after getting required raw materials for it. Lean Manufacturing is related to elimination of waste from manufacturing or you can say production line. It will help in maintaing proper level of inventory required. It also help in quality control.

d)The company has gained its pace in the areas including the reduction of excessive overtime at contract factories, progress was also slower than expected. The comapany has also changed its approach to some targets, including carbon control based on a deeper understanding of the challenges and also to improve alignment with business strategy. As far as long term is concerned , for Nike incremental progress against several targets was also considered as a key driver to redesign its factory evaluation and sourcing criteria to improve performance.
