Question
Consider the following two examples, which one is a scientific hypothesis? Explain.
A Presbyterian minister writes an article for Reader's Digest in which he proposes the idea that prayer makes plants grow better. He says that if you take a potted plant and pray for it, it will grow faster than one for which you don't pray.
A Nobel-prize winning physicist writes a paper in which he argues that there is a new type of radiation that is emitted by certain minerals. His claim is based on mathematical analysis of atomic structure, and he goes on to say that this radiation does not interact with any other matter or energy, and therefore cannot be detected by any sort of instrument.
Explanation / Answer
There are existance of nutrinos whcih are weakly charged., or anti matters qhich have opposite charge but same mass. for which nobel prize was won in 1995. even heard of prayer plant. but anything which is a new type of readiation, cannot be detected by any instrument is a new concept. nutrinos are also related and spoken along with cosmos energy. so nutrinos are mostly the radiations delt here.
