VOC is known as volatile organic compound. These are easily transformed to vapor state from liquid state. Volatile organic compounds contain carbon and hydrogen, oxygen etc. major sources of VOCs are: pesticides, air fresheners, burning fuels like gasoline, wood, coal and diesel, dry cleaning solvents.

Chemicals are mostly harmful to humans and environment. Since volatile organic compounds can turn easily into vapor, can be exposed to the chemical without even knowing it and it can be especially dangerous when inhaled. Environment also affected by VOCs. Water pollution and air pollution is caused by VOCs.
