The coach incoporates fluid breaks during practice; however, he allows the athletes to consume only water. The coach believes that sports beverages hinder performance and therefore forbids the athltetes to consume them. The atheltes complain of feeling fatigued, lethargic, and light-headed by the end of practices.

The problem is lack of energy source for the muscles to do such tiresome task. Also the breathing might not be proper, which creates anaerobic condition in muscle cells and athletes feel lethargic and fatigued. Water doesn't contain any nutrients, thus no form of energy is consumed by them.

They should drink electrolytes or drinks which contain simplest sugar form of sugar. This will act as instant form of energy for them and make them feel energetic.
