A small and relatively light metal ball suspended on on a string is charged by touching a fairly large, vertical, charged metal plate. The plate has area of 30 squared centimeters and holds 1 micro-Coulomb of charge. Assume that the ball has mass of 50 grams. Once charged the metal ball will move way from plate as far as possible. In equilibrium, their string makes an angle of 15 with the vertical. The string itself is 15 cm long. Calculate the amount of charge on the metal ball.
