Question
Need help with all three parts please!! I dont understand why these are the answers:
Explanation / Answer
part C is not there in the figure. Answer for Part A: consider maroon color atoms as A2 and purple color atoms as B. On the reactant side both A2 and B have same number of molecules (that is purple color reactant and maroon color reactant are equal in number) so reactant side of equation has A2+B----Now see the product reaction half there you can see that you have one new species having two maroon color ball attached with a purple ball/atom. this means A2 and B got fused or formed a bond giving product as A2B. thus product side of chemical equation will have A2B. Note if the reactants are present on the second figure as such they are not written on the right side of chemical equation. Thus the correct answer is A2 + B -----> A2B -------- Answer to Part B: It can be obtained form balanced chemical equation you got in answer of part A. A2 + B -----> A2B-----equilibrium constant is equal to the product of concentration terms of product molecules raised to the power of their coefficient divided by product of the concentration terms of reactant molecules raised to the power of their coefficient. As in this case coefficient of all molecules is 1. Thus we get equilibrium constant = [A2]B / [A2] * [B2] ..----- Answer to part C: only from what I can see. Delta n is change in the number of mole during reaction. It can be obtained form balanced chemical equation you got in answer of part A. A2 + B -----> A2B. delta n is difference between sum of mole numbers of product and sum of mole number of reactants . On product side mole number is 1 whereas on reactant side mole number is 1+1 = 2. Thus delta n = 1-2 = -1.
