Question

I'm stuck on this problem. I have to finish it by tomorrow formy lab that i did in class. Some data that might be useful that iaquired from the lab was: Mass of Mg= .04 grams Volume of H2 collected= 29.8mL Temp of H2 = 296 K Total Pressure inside eudiometer tube = 97.59kPa
The question is: Using the mole ratio from the balanced equation Mg+2HCl ==>MgCl2, convert the volume of hydrogen (.045L) per moleof Mg(.002), to the volume of hydrogen per mole of hydrogen. Hint:Write out the given and look at the desired. I'm stuck on this problem. I have to finish it by tomorrow formy lab that i did in class. Explanation / Answer

Volume of hydrogen per mole of Mg = 0.045 L / 0.002mole                                                          = 22.5 L/ mole of Mg              Mg  + 2HCl ==> MgCl2 + H2 1 mole of Mg gives 1 mole of hydrogen. Hence volume of hydrogen per mole of hydrogen = 22.5 L/ moleof Hydrogen gas. 1 mole of Mg gives 1 mole of hydrogen. Hence volume of hydrogen per mole of hydrogen = 22.5 L/ moleof Hydrogen gas.
