Question

Can somebody please explain to me why the rate order for N2O5 isgiven as two in the solutions because I got 1 for the rate order onmy own?

Explanation / Answer

You still have not answered my questioned. The reaction is2N2O5(g)----> 4NO2(g) +02(g) It is not said to be an elementary reaction. Instead I'mgiving a chart with the concentrations of N2)5 and theinitial rates. Upon calculating that any change in theconcentration of N2)5 yields a equal change in the initial rate, Ifound that the rate order is 1. However, the solution givenon this site lists the answer as N205 having a rate order of2. Please explain this.
