A friend shows you his graph from the Product vs. Substrate Concentration experiment since he thinks he may have done something wrong. You look at his graph and agree. Please provide two reasonable explanations for why his graph looks as it does. (In other words, what could he have done wrong?)

y axis= "product"
x axis= "substrate concentration"
as substrate concentration increases the product decreases.
the y axis is not labelled by any incremements but the x axis has five dashes to indicate increments (for the values), my lab instructor said a clue is that the y axis isnt labelled on purpose (hope this explanation isnt too confusing)

Explanation / Answer

the x and y axis should be flipped because product is the dependent factor, and you always put the independent factor on the x axis. To me the x and y axis need to be labeled and they need to say how it was measured ex. in meters, cm, % fluorescence. etc. For an example, the amount of SHOX protein (measured by % fluorescence).
