Explanation / Answer

a) motion of the spring is simple harmonic and hence at t = 24 sec is an equilibrium position where velocity will be maximum and decreases as spring move from its equilibrium position, so kinetic energy will be positive,

and since spring is not displaced but resides in its equilibrium position so potential energy wii be 0. and so option numer 1 is correct for part A.

b) in this part at t=12 sec, it is cleraly seen that velocity will decrease and accelaration also decrease (whenever spring move towards left or right from equilibrium position, its velocity and accelaration both decrease)

and so option numer 4 is correct for this case.
