Question
I think that "rinsing a crystallized solid" is supposed to be underwent with cold water. I am not sure about the other two ones depicted under "room temperature". Thank you in advance!
hot solvent room temperature solvent cold solvent rinsing a crystallized solid during filtration when the desired product is a liquid during filtration when the desired product is solid f filtering out the e drying reagent when trying to fully dissolve a product to extract a compound multiple times from a different phaseExplanation / Answer
In my view, the nature of solvent being used in the separation of pure compound from its impurities is not a fixed criteria. It may depende on several aspects related to solubility of pure and impure compounds whether with hot solvent or/ with room temperature solvent. In the mixture for its pure compound separation, the solvent should select in a way, in which one (pure/ impure) should soluble other should not whether it is in hot or room temperature. Then through filteration we can get pure compound.
For recrystallization of compounds (which contains less impurities), people mostly used mixture of solvents wherein, it completely soluble. On evoparation of this solution due to differences in their vaporisations we can get crystals of pure compound.
If any querries fell free to ask me,
Best wishes.
