Can someone please help me with these? Part A and B.

A sample of ideal gas at room temperature occupies a volume of 10 0 I, at a pressure of 362 torr If the pressure changes to 1810 torr, with no change in the temperature or moles of gas, what is the new volume, ½? Explanation / Answer

PartA :-

given , P1 = 362 torr

V1 = 10.0 L

P2 = 1810 torr

V2 = ?

since Temperature is kept constant , therefore by using Mathematical expression of Boyle's law i.e

P1V1 = P2V2 ( at constant T)

V2 = P1V1 / P2

= 362torr x 10.0 L / 1810 torr

= 2 L

therefore , new Volume = 2 Litre

Part B:-

given , V1 = 10.0 L

V2 = 64.0 L

P1 = 362 torr

P2 = ?

again by using mathematical expression of Boyle's law

P2 = P1 V1 / V2

= 362 torr x 10.0 L / 64.0 L

= 56.56 torr

therefore , new Pressure = 56.56 torr
