Question
I need help with these please!!!
When you connect an unknown resistor across the terminals of a 1.50V AAA battery having negligible internal resistance, you measure a current of 17.6mA flowing through it.
a) What is the resistance of this resistor?
b)If you now place the resistor across the terminals of a 12.2V car battery having no internal resistance, how much current will flow, Answer in mA?
c)You now put the resistor across the terminals of an unknown battery of negligible internal resistance and measure a current of 0.452A flowing through it. What is the potential difference across the terminals of the battery?
Explanation / Answer
a) V = I R
R = V/I = 1.5/17.6E-3= 85.2 ohms
b) I = v/R = 12.2/85.2=0.143 A = 143 mA
c) V = I R = 0.452*85.2= 38.5 V
