The magnetic field B1 produced by In at the site of Land the force exerted by In on are as shown. Which of the following statements is true: (a) II and 12 are both directed into the page. b) I, and 12 are both directed out of the page. The direction of magnetic field produced by current carrying wire is determined by Ringht hand thumb rule .

Also we know , According to Right hand thumb rule magnetic field at right side of wire is opposite to magnietic field to the left side , as curl finger is going into from one side and comming out from other side .

Here Force is attractive , hence both the wire is carrying current in same direction either directed out or directed into page.

Now the the direction of magnetic field due to I1 is upward direction which is only possible when I1 is flowing outward (holding wire by right hand curl finger shows direction ) to the page and as the I2 should have same diection , so I2 is also directed out of page.
