Electrons have a charge of –e, so going from the + to – terminal of the battery will result in a gain of 9 eV of energy. If the electron loses 5 eV of energy going through bulb 1, what will be the energy change of the electron when it moves through bulb 2 in the direction indicated? Assume the wires in the circuit have no resistance.

Simply by conservation of energy principle; the electron will lose 4eV energy on second bulb where it has no energy, then agin the battery will provide it an energy of 9eV
