An apparently healthy pregnant woman who has had no prenatal care appears in the Emergency Department in labor. An uneventful delivery results in the birth of a normal baby boy. Routine delivery blood work revealed the following results:
Mother’s serum: RPR reactive
Cord blood: RPR reactive
The mother has no obvious signs of active syphilis and denied a past history of the disease or treatment for syphilis.

Yes the child is at a high risk of disease because even if mother doesnt show the sign but she shows reactive in the blood work so there is high chances. Same is for chord blood
