Question

I just need help with C...

A 2.55-kg object constrained to move along the x-axis is subjected to a time-varying force as shown on the graph below. Find the change in the object's velocity over the specified time intervals a) Between-0 s and t = 4.23 s Force vs. Time 15 12 m/s b) Between 4 5.43 s and 10 s (N) Number m/ s 12 12 14 18 20 c) Between t 10 s and 16.9 s t(s) Number Remember that the general form for the equation of a line is Av=11-14.53 | m/s where M is the slope, x is the independent variable and B is the intercept. You can use this to determine the value of the orce at t- 16.9 s

Explanation / Answer

We know impulse=change in momentum

(c) impulse between 10 s and 16.9s is equal to area of F-t graph between these 2 points

Change in velocity=area/mass

Area=12+4.35=16.35

Change in velocity=6.41 m/s

Since impulse is negative so change is negative

So =-6.41 m/s
