Question
Can someone please help me with these questions and add some comments to the summary and conclusion if possible. The data from the experiment is attached along with info abut experiment.
Please use the graphs to answer the questions
(b) At what value of d, are d, and d, equal? Compare this value of d, with f. (e) Refer to the plot of L versus d, At what value of d, is L. minimum? Compare this value of d, with the answer to first part of (b). (d) Does magnification m depend linearly on d/d? At what value of do is the magnification-1 ? Compare this with the do-d, value from (b). (5) Are the real images of a converging lens always inverted? Circle YES or NO. Summary and ConclusionsExplanation / Answer
Here the questions you asked are quite simple but from the graph that you plotted there is no point where do=di but from definition these will be equal when m=1 .
C)L = di + do
L= do + m*do
On differentiating with respect to do and equating it to zero,
1+ m = 0
m = -1
Hence at m= -1 L is minimum.
Here from the graph the point is not exactly equal but it is approximate to do = 20
D) here m= 1 when do = di
But from your 1 graph there is no such point please cross check that graph.
5) yes real image from converging lens are always inverted.
