Question
In your own words, and in complete sentences totaling no more than 100 words!!!!!!
discuss: the function of dendritic cell can be likened to the famous midnight ride of Paul Revere, together with Charles Dawes and Dr.Williams Prescott, on the night of 18th of April, 1775. During these excursions, these men warned the Massachusettes countryside that British were coming. Include in your answer HOW specific aspects of the innate and acquired immune responses, and particularly CD4+ (or helper) T cells, fit into the analogy.
Explanation / Answer
Dendritic cells serve as antigen presenting cells and stimulate other components of immune system to initiate the immune response against the invaded antigen. For the purpose, these cells recognize and process the antigen and present them on the cell surface to initiate the primary immune response by T lymphocytes. In addition, dendritic cells also secrete the cytokinines to promote the activation and differentiation of B cells. Revere also warned the local patriots of countryside against Britishers and served as dendritic cells. Dawes did not do it and rather focused to get to Lexington as soon as possible. Both Revere and Dawes served the role of helper T cells that activated the other components of immune system (local patriotes and Prescott).
