Physics Topics Applied to Daily Life

Instructions: For BOTH A & B, provide a minimum 4 SENTENCE PARAGRAPH applying the concepts to every day life events to explain how physics applies in daily life.

a) Rotational Motion of Solid Objects

Physical objects may rotate in addition to their translational motion. We can analyze the rotational motion separately, using rules similar to those in translational motion. We will also encounter conservation laws again, namely conservation of energy (with rotational energy and work now included) and conservation of angular momentum. Newton's Laws will be adapted to spinning objects, as well.

b) Behavior of Fluids

Fluids are composed of countless tiny particles, each of which obeys the physics of objects we have covered so far. But because of their number, we instead examine the characteristics of the particles as a group. These bulk properties include pressure, temperature, and volume. We will also explore three principles that govern the bulk behavior of fluids.

Explanation / Answer

A)
A rotation motion is a motion that takes place around a fixed axis
A worm drive is an example of rotational motion. Both the worm and the worm gear are rotating on its own axis.Opening the cap of a container/ bottle, that's a rotational motion.

B)
Fluid have the ability to take shape of the container they are kept in. They have the tendency to flow in the direction of an applied force like gravity.Water is, by far, the most common liquid on Earth. Like a gas, a liquid is able to flow and take the shape of a container
