Explanation / Answer

1). All the pollutants that are released into the water streams by humans enter into the sea water. This includes the waste water from the sewage, croplands, industries, etc. Along with these toxicants, all others that are released into the atmosphere also accumulates. When these contaminants reach the arctic region, the pollutants break down much slowely due to the extreme conditions in this region such as low temperature and sunlight. All these factors contributed the Arctic to become a "toxic sink" These toxicants that directly accumulate in the animals living in this regions. This negatively affects the health of Inuit living in this region.
