Please correct my work. I'm not sure why I got the wrong answer. The question and my attempt at a solution are provided in the image below.
Problem 10.57 Part A You are driving your 1600 kg car at 18 m/s down a hill with a 5.0 slope when a deer suddenly jumps out onto the roadway. You slam on your brakes, skidding to a stop How far do you skid before stopping if the kinetic friction force between your tires and the road is 1.1×104 N ? solve this problem using conservation of energy Express your answer to two significant figures and include the appropriate units. d 1.3 Submit My Answers Give Up Incorrect; Try Again; 5 attempts remaining Provide Feedback Continue novin Suotrac ma sin (5) ¥/5x fom both Side Vi = 18 m/s Fachr ot theExplanation / Answer
work-energy theorem:
net work = k.e(kinetic energy)
k.e = ½m0² - ½m18² = -½m324 = -162m
=> net work = net force x distance along slope
=> -162(1600) = [11000 - 1600gsin5.0](-d)
=> d = 26.91 m
