Design Question - Apnea Sleeping Detector . Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder that occurs when a person's breathing is interrupted during sleep. People with untreated sleep apnea stop breathing periodically during their sleep sometimes hundreds of times. This means the brain -and the rest of the body may not get enough oxygen Design a system that warns the mother of a baby when she stops breathing In theory, we can use 2 sensors to detect the event of breathing interruption. Which sensor is more likely to be responsive?Explanation / Answer
1. Sleep apnea is the repeated interrupted of breathing during sleep, sometimes hundreds of times during the night. It cause high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, memory loss, and weight problems. To detect the child if she stops breathing by placing sensor in her wrist or mask in face. Then this system is connected to the mobile phone by wifi it will ring or alarm when the child stops breathing.
2. Blood O2 level sensor is used to identify how much O2 present in the blood. If breathing interrupt means the O2 saturation in blood decreases so it is detected and gives alarm.
Heart beat measurement. If O2 level is decreasing in blood means there is a fluctuation in the heart beat, this gives signal to the breathing interruption.
