I'm writing a post lab for my Biology lab and this questionconfuses me: What are the functions of a flower? Describe how a flower ofyou choice is adapted to each function.I thought the functions of aflower were just to house the reproductive organs, but that doesn'tseem to fit the second part of the question. Although the general, all-encompassing purpose of a flower isusually reproduction, there are many functions a flower can servein this light. "Housing the reproductive organs" may be apassive characteristic of a flower, but it seems to me that theword "function" implies some active, goal oriented purpose. One example of a flower's function is to attract insect to thereproductive organs so that those insects can carry away or deliverpollen.
