Provide as much as possible the genotype of each of the following a. b. 1-1 c. 1-2 d, ll-2- e -3 g. IV-5 3. What is the probability that individual V-2 is heterozygous? V-5 were to have children together, what proportion of the sons would be 4. If v-2 and affected? 5. Ifv-2 and V-5 were to have children together, what proportion of affected?Explanation / Answer
2..
I-1 is hererozygous dominant (Xx)
I-2 male is normal (XY)
II-2 heterozygous (XY)male affected
II-3 heterozygous (Xx) affected female
III-5 heterozygous (Xx) female affected
IV-5 (xx) homozygous recessive normal female.
3.. V2 female is heterozygous and the probability of heterozygosity is 100%. Because in this case parent male is affected which means it has one dominant X chromosome and female mother is normal which means it has two xx recessive X chromosomes. Hence in any case this V2 female remain affected in heterozygous.
4.. if V2 and V5 have child as a son 50% of son are affected and 50% son are normal
4.. if V2 and V5 have child as a female 50% of female are heterozygous affected (Xx) and 50% are normal (xx).
