Question

I'm so confused to find normal vectors of two planes in the above picture.

I read solutions in chegg but I can't understand even the planes are in the same position their normal vector is opposite direction. The first one is x and second is -x(?)

How is it possible?

loop moves away tha loop is at a position as shown. P.6-5 A R 0.5(?) in ving lU d B a,0.04 (T) with an 10(cm) by 10(cm) square conducting loop ha rotates in a constant magnetic fiel FIGURE 69 A circuit in a time-varying magnetic field (Problem P.6-2) FIGURE 6-10 A rectangular loop near a I current-carrying wire (for Problems and P.6-4) P.6-3 R0.1(m) 0.3(m)

Explanation / Answer

For Fig. 6-9:

If you manage to put thumb of right hand in current direction I you will get directon of magnetic field coming outside of the plane i.e +X direction (Ampere's right-hand grip rule)

For Fig. 6.10 If you manage to put thumb of right hand in current direction i2 you will get directon of magnetic field going inside to the plane i.e - X direction (Ampere's right-hand grip rule)

Short answer: Due to opposite direction of current in both loops. Fig. 1 has clock wise direction while Fig. 2 has anti clock wise direction.
