Question

Subject: Political science.

lain MacKenzie notes that "Every ideology, we can say, embodies an account of the basic elements and core dynamic that constitutes and propels political life." He then says, "While providing a description of social reality, ideologies also embody a set of political ideals aimed at detailing the best possible form of social organization. Along with a map of reality comes a set of norms about how we should behave politically: a map that is at its most striking when these norms cohere into a full-blown picture of an ideal society."

Isn't this a perfect description of what is going on in today's world -- stated simply, a clash of ideologies? Put another way, isn't an "ideal society" like beauty -- in the eye of the beholder? How are we ever going to move public policy forward in Congress or anywhere else, when different ideologies collide? Or is there one "correct" ideology that all should follow?

Explanation / Answer

Ideology is a way of percieveing a particular thing and then framing a view about it. For a single incident there may be many ideologies but if the final goal is same they will have to blend among themselves and will follow the same path.

Clashes are good because they sometimes show us where one is wrong and will make the people think other way round. If there will be a single ideology then politicians will stuck to it and will not grow. Society will come to an stagnant phase where one would like to have set rules and policies.

But if the society have different ideologies and a way to take things then the correct ideology will be an adequate blend of all the ideologies.
