Explanation / Answer

Answer )

the 3 D sketch in not possible in the answer ., answers of question 1 and 2 are below

Volume of one candle = 0.4 cm3 , Number of candle per box = 500

Volume of packaging box = 500* 0.4 = 200 cm3

The packeging box can be of three shapes , sphere, cudes ,Cuboid,. The spherical shape are neither suitable nor transportation friendly for such product. So, we have two option left CUBE or CUBOIDS.

CUBEs are closed structure which ahve all sides equal to each other . Volume of cube = L3

L3 = 200cm3 = 5.848035 cm , i.e. practically imposible to create a box of such dimension .

So , cuboid shape box is the most suitable option

Let Length(L) = 10 cm ,width(B) = 5 Cm , Height(H) = 4 cm , Vol of box = LBH = 200 cm3 (10,5 ,4 is the minimum combination of whole number , which can create 200 as multiple

Answer 1) Surface area = 2( LB + BH + LH) = 2* 110 = 220 cm2

answer 2) Cost of material = Surface area * 0.0005 = $0.11 / box

answer 2)
