In United States, there will be a drastic decrease in both birth rate and death rate. However, population may continue to increase due to migration from other countries.

The most significant factor that the poorest 2 billion people on earth could do to slow world population growth is to decrease their fertility rates. This could be achieved by education, health and infrastructure.
