Healthcare Industry is one of the biggest industries in U.S and all world. It is a growing industry as nowadays people need more healthcare services, many people fall ill, there are many diseases that can be cured with the proper treatment and care. People do all efforts for good health so the demand of healthcare services is increasing day by day but healthcare industry is facing some risks in which "Cyber risk" is one of them.
Step 1: Identify hazards- Cyber risk is the risk in healthcare industry that arises due to technology. All the patients' data is kept in the systems so there are chances to lose the data and reports of the patients that can be very harmful situation. Cyber risk happens due to computer crash or virus attacks.
Step 2: Decide who may be harmed, and how- Patients and their family suffer from cyber risk as their reports are lost and they are not able to get the past history of their health, it creates panic and tension. Hospitals are also facing issues as it is difficult for them to protect the patient's data.
Step 3: Assess the risks and take action- This risk is really very big and actions are being taken in preventing the patient's data. Hospitals are using anti virus and data restore and backup things so that data can be secured. Hospitals are using "Integrated Enterprise risk management.
Step 4: Make a record of the findings- We found that cyber risk harms the healthcare industry as whole, it harms hospital staff, patients and patients' families too but steps taken by healthcare industry will surely minimize the cyber risk.
