1. Do you think you had a solid understanding of the theory of evolution prior to starting the course and before watching the TED Talk video? Were any of the misconceptions of evolution presented in the video surprising to you? Which ones?

2. What is your own personal experience with learning about evolution? Were you taught about evolutionary theory in school? At what grade level?

3. What do you think it means to be human?

4. Tell me one question or idea regarding evolution, physical anthropology or human biology that you have been curious about, and that you hope to have answered this semester.

Explanation / Answer

1. No, I was not very much aware about the theory of evolution. I used to think that organisms adapt to their environment. I used to think that polar bears are white in nature because of the environment they are living. But the ted talk really cleared this misconception from my mind.

2. I was told about evolution theory in the fifth grade. That time i didn't think much about it and there were some doubts which i could not ask that time and has got cleared now after watching this video.

3. Humans although a type of species in this world amongst others but is very different in many ways. It is not a point of denial that humans are more intelligent than most of the species. With time from early man till today we have adapted certain characteristic which separates us from others. Charles darwin stated we are similar to animals but we do not resemble with animals.

4. There is a big question which keeps coming into my mind that how did we communicate with each other, How did we make the languages which we are using now?
