None of these feedstocks compete with human food and all have positive impacts on the environment when measured on a paddock to pump basis taking into account the full life-cycle of the product.

While there have been concerns regarding the use of food crops in some other countries, Australian producers are using only environmentally sustainable feedstocks which do not impact the affordability or availability of food within Australia.

In terms of transport biofuels, the future market penetration range from low to high levels. Most of the studies show low to intermediate transport biofuel market shares at the end of their studied time horizons (usually between 2050 and 2100), with levels below 40% for climate policy scenarios not applying sector-specific polices

Biofuels are the fuels which are produced by the action of ethanol on various biological products like sugarcane, corn, wood animal dung and others. They are very economical in nature as they used the agricultural waste to give us green and clean energy which can be used for other purposes. If we take a case of Australian biofuel industry which uses various feedstocks that are not used for human food and mostly includes agricultural waste which have no economical value. On top of that these agricultural wastes cause pollution of land and other resources if they are not converted into biofuels. Some of these inludes feedstocks waste starch, molasses, tallow, sorghum and waste cooking oil. These feedstocks have some energy left in them which is used when they are converted into biofuels and hence this process improves the full life-cycle assesment of the feedstocks. In various parts of the world there are some concerns over the use of biofuels as they are using food grains as feedstocks which leads to an increase in the cost of food items and but in Australia all the waste food are used in making biofuels which make this process a very sustainable one. There are many industries where bio fuels find their implementation one of which is transport biofuels. In this industry there are certain variation in the use of biofuel as a source of energy because of its slightly low efficiency as biofuel use can vary from low to high levels but with time the market share will increase as it is a clean fuel and it also lowers the affect of global warming as it don’t produce that much greenhouse gas ( carbon dioxide) as normal fuels does. But the future looks bright for biofuels as with the advancement in the technology the efficiency of biofuels will increase and on top of that the pros of biofuel attracts government attention and now more and more governments around the world are giving subsidies in the production of biofuels.
