Answer to 5 : Dosimeter are 5 types mainly. These are 1. Electronic personal dosimeter 2. MOSFET dosimeter 3. Film Badge Dosimeter 4.Quartz Fibre dosimeter. 5.Thermoluminescent dosimeter.
principle of 1. Electronic personal dosimeter : It has different types of functions. It monitors which allows alarm warnings and live readout. It can be reset after taking records. It also can be used for multiple times.
2. MOSFET dosimeter: It is used as clinical dosimeters. It takes direct reading in less active area. Post radiation signal can be stored permanently. Gate oxide of MOSFET that is silicon dioxide is an active sensing material.
3. Film Badge Dosimeter : It can be used for only one time. The film holder contains a number of filters. The badge consists of two parts. photographic film and a holder. The silver film emulsion is very sensitive to radiation.
4.Quartz Fibre dosimeter.: It is charged to high voltage. It can be used for one period only.If the gas in the dosimeter chamber got ionized by radiation the fiber indicator change against a graduated scale.
5.Thermoluminescent dosimeter. It measures ionizing radiation exposure. It measures the intensity of visible light . This dosimeters are of two types. These are calcium fluoride and lithium fluoride.Calcium fluoride is used for recording gamma exposure and Lithium fluoride is used for recording gamma and neutron exposure.
