In the textbook it talks about Wager’s use of leitmotivs. Where a musical passage represents a person, an object or an idea. Many of the great and not so great Hollywood composers have used this idea. It has become a staple of many big budget box office movies. A famous example of this is this theme from Star Wars:
I’m pretty sure almost everyone recognized that theme to represent a specific character in the story, Darth Vader.
