Question

I have to find average number. (8+7+7,5+8,5+8+8+8,5+7,5+8+7+8,5+9+8+9+8,5)/10 = 121/10 =8.0666666... but (8+7+7,5+8,5+8)/5 + (8+8,5+7,5+8+7)/5 + (8,5+9+8+9+8,5)/5 =(7.8+7.8+8.6)=8.2 why are these two ways of calculating gives diffrentanswers? and what is the average (average) this 15 numbers. is thefirst  way is right to calculate? I have to find average number. (8+7+7,5+8,5+8+8+8,5+7,5+8+7+8,5+9+8+9+8,5)/10 = 121/10 =8.0666666... but (8+7+7,5+8,5+8)/5 + (8+8,5+7,5+8+7)/5 + (8,5+9+8+9+8,5)/5 =(7.8+7.8+8.6)=8.2 why are these two ways of calculating gives diffrentanswers? and what is the average (average) this 15 numbers. is thefirst  way is right to calculate?

Explanation / Answer

Neither of them are calculated correctly. The sum of the numbers is as follows: (8+7+7.5+8.5+8+8+8.5+7.5+8+7+8.5+9+8+9+8.5) = 121 There are 15 numbers therefore the average is 121/15 -8.06666666... If you split it up into groups of three then it is as you haveit: (8+7+7.5+8.5+8)/5 + (8+8.5+7.5+8+7)/5 + (8.5+9+8+9+8.5)/5 But you have to take average of these "three" terms that are nowcreated. So we get: (7.8+7.8+8.6)/3 = 8.06666666666 So it's the same average if you consider all terms and average eachtime you go.
