Can someone assist this was the question?
Discuss in your own words what a "Z value" is. (i.e. what information does the Z value provide us with). Explain how you solve for the area under the normal curve between two values which are both greater than the mean. Discuss how you determine the value that separates the top 10% of your data from the rest of your data.
Then I answered:
A Z- value is the terms of standard deviations from their means. These z-scores have a distribution with a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 1.A Z-value can be positive or negative, indicating whether it is above or below the mean and by how many standard deviations.
Can you please advise what I'm missing and what you would add as well?
Thank You,
Explanation / Answer
Your answer is right
Add these also
Z is symmetric about mean, and have mean = median = mode
Also 99% of area lie within 3 std deviations from the mean.
The area under normal curve represents the probability and that is used for 10% values.
