Hello guys, can you please help me on this experiment , please help me i need to submit it tomorrow Kater's Compound Reversible Pendulum 5.1 Aim: 1- To determine the position of the center of gravity of the pendulum unit. 2- To determine the periodic time for a compound pendulum 3- To obtain the value for gravitational acceleration, g. 5.2 Apparatus: The Katers Compound Pendulum is mounted on the rear of the mainframe. The trunnions will rest on the supports. Explanation / Answer

1. The physical meaning of equivalent length of the compound pendulum is the length at which the pendulum swings freely. Here compound pendulum is a rigid body, so it free to swing with respect to the horizontal axis.

2. As you can see from figure 5. 2 , h is turned to zero, the point goes into the top end of the compound pendulum, at this point, compound pendulum can be converted into   simple pendulum.
