each hotdog costs $ 1.75 and each cola costs $ 0.75

throughout the day you made a total of $ 75 ,You sold a total of 80 hotdogs and colas combined

Find out many hot dogs and how many sodas were sold ?

setting up the equations

let x = number of hotdogs sold and y = number of colas sold

x + y = 80

1.75x + .75 y = 75

solving we get

x = 15 , y = 65

so, 15 hotdogs and 65 colas were sold
