Question

For the hypothesis stated above...
Question 1. What is/are the critical value(s)? (Z crit, t crit, z stat, or t stat) = ( +,-,+_) ____
Question 2. What is the test statistic? (Must be typed to either 2 or 3 decimals)
Question 3. What is the concussion? A.) There is significant evidence to conclude or B.) there is no significant evidence to conclude That p _____ In 2013, 3196 of business owners gave a holiday gift to their employees. A 2014 survey of 43 business owners indicated that 19% plan to provide a holiday gift to their employees. Is there reason to believe the proportion of business owners providing gifts has decreased at a 0.025? (see exercise 40 on page 418 of your textbook for a similar problem.) For the hypothesis stated above. Question 1 What is/are the critical value(s)? Question 2 What is the test statistic? ion What is the conclusion

Explanation / Answer

Question 1 alpha = 0.025

It is a left taied test and given alpha = 0.025 , the critical value of Z(0.025) = -1.96

Question 2 is the test stastics are

Z = (p - p0)/ sqrt(p0 (1 - p0)n) = (0.19 - 0.31)/ sqrt(0.31 * 0.69/43) = -1.7014

Question 3 . SInce Z= - 1.7014 is greater than Zcritical = - 1.96 so we can validate null hypothesis which said that p = 0.31

P - value = 0.0446

so we can conclude that the proportin of business owners providing gifts has n't decreased.
