Please help and sure your thought on this.......
There is no doubt that the Internet and social media have had a huge impact on the way teens socialize and get information. While media and older people have a tendency to demonize social media, there is enough credible research to indicate that the 'doom and gloom' we hear about is, for the most part, false, for example.
22% of teenagers log on their favorite social media site more than 10 times a day
50%+ of the adolescents log on to a social media site more than once a day
75% of teenagers own cell phones
25% use them for social media
54% use them for texting
24% use them for instant messaging
Parents may find it difficult to relate to such digitally savvy youngsters online because they may lack a basic understanding of these new forms of socialization, they may not have the technical abilities or the time to keep pace with their children in the ever-changing internet landscape, may lack a basic understanding that children’s online lives are an extension of their offline lives.
This article list several benefits and risk of youth using social media. Your thoughts?

Explanation / Answer
I have the following thoughts on this topic. Internet and Social media how attractive they may seem, has its own list of disadvantages. The technical advantage of being able to contact people, get any information anywhere, anytime is over shadowed by the negative it has. Though, it may shrink the world and bring people closer, the connection it creates is hallow. There is no real connection, relationship being built. People who spend most of their time on cellphones using social media/ internet experience withdrawal symptoms when made to stay from it. It also causes distraction, due to the temptation to check phone every now and then, performance at school, college, office goes down. People are also found to be aloof and depressed.
Due to the advent of this technology, the generation gap being parents and children has widened. Parents, being in their middle/old years, are not able to learn the technology and match the lifestyle of their children. A generation which is aloof and addicted to the phone has been made.
